“100 percent” in Pikmin 4 is a player goal tied to one save file, not a trophy list like Pikmin 3 Deluxe. Nintendo does not print a single “100%” number on the Rescue Database screen. Instead, the game tracks progress through Main Missions, Side Missions, regional exploration bars, and postgame modes. Treasure count scope (as of 2026-11-03, per Pikipedia Story Mode): the campaign contains 859 collectible treasure instances in total, including 470 gold-nugget piles and 410 other object treasures (239 unique catalog types among those objects). The area index sums to 410 because its six-area table tracks the same per-area treasure totals Pikipedia lists on each region page (object instances in that zone’s surface and caves)—not a second, conflicting total. Gold nuggets fill out the remaining instances toward 859. Dandori Battle pickups still do not count toward that story total.

What does “100 percent” mean in Pikmin 4?

Three ideas often get mixed together:

1. Story ending — Rescue Captain Olimar and reach credits (Completion).
2. “Clear all main missions” — Every castaway rescued, every leafling cured, every story treasure, and every Onion plus Flarlic bulb in the campaign (Mission (Pikmin 4)).
3. “Clear all side missions” — Everything in row 2 plus full Oatchi training, all Lab gear, a complete Piklopedia, platinum medals on every Dandori Challenge and Dandori Battle, 1,000 creature defeats, all of Louie’s ingredient quests, and every buildable structure (Completion).

Community “100%” guides also include Olimar’s Shipwreck Tale (30 ship parts), Trial of the Sage Leaf platinum times, all 16 night expedition bases, title-screen Dandori Battle stage unlocks, and Gallery cutscenes—because those modes are part of the cartridge content, even when no Side Mission banner mentions them (Completion; Night expedition).

Hardcore players add platinum medals in both solo and two-player Dandori Challenges and Battles (Completion). That doubles the medal grind and is optional unless you set your own bar there.

What should be on your Pikmin 4 100% checklist?

You can finish many tasks in parallel, but this route avoids backtracking:

1. Play through the story until you rescue Olimar and see credits. Side missions unlock constantly—accept them when castaways offer material rewards.
2. Finish the Cure Oatchi epilogue (post-credits exploration and final boss) so every surface region opens.
3. Run night expeditions whenever Yonny needs glow sap for leaflings. Clear each of the 16 bases once; save the 4–5/5 danger sites until your Glow Pikmin routes are practiced (Night expedition guide).

• Repeatable missions — Blooming Pikmin flowers and growing population goals reset; they do not stay “cleared” (Mission (Pikmin 4)).
• Shipwreck Tale before Sage Leaf — The Trial cave appears only after the Tale’s good ending (Trial of the Sage Leaf).
